Among the ITIL Service Management processes, the IT Change Management process associates with higher complexity mainly due to its proactivity nature and due to service integration requirements, where multiple processes, toolsets, configuration items of different providers, come into the picture during the planning of high impacting changes. While IT Change Management decreases the risk of outages or negative client experience, it has a significant impact on operational efficiency and workplace experience. Organizations today experience challenges of unstable IT environment coming out of gaps into their IT Change Management process. Failed IT changes might have significant impact on client experience and organizational image. If wrongly managed, the Change Management process will result in changes not achieving their goals, service interruptions, delay in projects and releases to productions, budget overspent and penalties.
